The Department of Sociology WUM is playing key net in establishing and developing the discipline. The department is committed to empirically rich, conceptually sophisticated, and socially and politically relevant research, building upon the traditions of the disciplining and playing a key role in the development of the social sciences into the new intellectual areas, social problems and ethical dilemmas that face globalized post.
The Sociology staff is a society of scholars with diverse rational interests and proficiency devoted to fineness in teaching and research and is academically innovative and informed. With students, we are devoted to mounting systematic, interpretative, and critical capacities for understanding the social and civilizing forces that shape the human expertise.
The Sociology faculty brings the intellectual traditions of our discipline in a systematic way to the curriculum and to our own research. We are dedicated through our teaching and service to encourage imaginations that foresee a more just society and which identify the individual’s contribution to the social construction and reproduction of just practices and institutions.
